Capture a Feeling
"The idea is whenever you are making a consequential decision, write down what you decided, why you decided as you did, what you expect to happen, and if you’re so inclined, how you feel mentally and physically." - Michael Mauboussin
Feelings allow you to capture your emotions and discover how they are affecting your decision-making. George Soros famously would liquidate all of his positions when he felt a certain back pain. Something like 95% of our brain activity is subconscious; there’s signal in that noise, if we can better measure it. The next time you experience a -10% price drop in a day of your favorite stock, you can capture that feeling and learn how much price could be driving your decisions.
